The Christmas season has well and truly arrived. And in true Cally style a couple of hundred people joined Cllr Convery to officially switch on the lights up and down the Cally Road. There were arts and crafts activities for young people; sausage rolls and mince pies; mulled wine for adults and drinks (provided by Iceland) for the kids; a grotto for local kids to meet Santa; vintage, craft and produce stalls at the Cally Market and music courtesy of local legend Dave Elvis and a cappella group The Refrains. This year’s appeal to local businesses had been really successful and had raised a grand total of £4,360. Many thanks to the local businesses who sponsored us listed below. The atmosphere on Tilloch Street was made all the more festive by Rachel and the lovely helpers from Kings Cross Church and students from Central St Martins’ who need particular thanks for all their work behind the scenes in making the space look amazing. More photos of the event can be seen on the Cally Ward facebook page.
