People just kept arriving, until it was standing room only at the last Caledonian Ward Partnership meeting, chaired by Cllr Paul Convery, with fellow Councilors Cllr Rupert Perry and Cllr Una O’Halloran. Speakers were Kate Kelly, from Islington Giving, who is running a project looking at uptake of youth opportunities, Jonathan Gibb from the Council Planning department, who updated everyone on the Cally Plan, and Sam from Team Cally who got feedback on the latest Cally Festival. The meeting was a lively exchange between speakers and the public. As you can imagine it was a mix of local issues and national policy. Cllr Convery took business from the floor which covered local issues from littering and recycling, pavements, crime and policing, housing issues and the investments going in to the Cally Pool. A report of the meeting and presentations are below.
Next meeting of the Caledonian Ward Partnership will be 11 February 2015 – ALL WELCOME
If you were one of the thousands of people who came to the Cally Festival – thanks for your part in making it a wonderful day. And if you were one of the hundreds of people who ran a stall, stewarded, danced, sung or were active behind the scenes thanks a million. The Cally Festival has been months of hard work, but well worth it. Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what local resident Siobhán Dennehy thought of the day who runs a community gardening group I love the Cally because of the Festival. Siobhán spoke to lots of residents; it has been great to get your feedback – thanks for all your comments, keep them coming!!!
